2021 Award Assembly - Writing

Yesterday afternoon Team 4&5 had their annual award assembly for the year of 2021. This was a wonderful event that acknowledges the students and the students going away to college. This event chose students to become leaders for the next year to come. The assembly took place in a large tent called Te Kapua, just inside the school.

The students were divided into their year groups and they all had to perform a dance which represents the hard work we have done throughout the year. We started with the opening prayer and ended with the last prayer, every dance was really good but I reckon the year 8's were the best.

It was a good year to start with and ended with perfect harmony. This year was one of the best years of my life and this assembly really meant a lot to me.

Attitude Talk - Writing

Today team 5 had the opportunity to have an attitude talk about puberty and self appearance. The children had to be split in to their own genders, so the boys had to go to the school hall and the girls just stayed in the classes. As the boys were in the hall two men were there waiting for us so they can talk about puberty and self appearance. It was kind awkward but really funny because they found away to keep us out of our comfort zone. The men's names were charlie and robbie and they talked about their past life and how they got through puberty. It was a privilege having them because they helped us overcome our fear of puberty.

What I Did Today - Writing

Today was just a normal day like always we've done many things though. Since we're in lockdown level 3 the amount of children are a little small yet very big, in the morning we went to a place called      te kapua which is a big wide tent just inside our school. We went to te kapua to have our morning prayer and just catching up on daily notices. One of the notices was about one of our teachers Mrs Stone who was actually staying at her home taking care of her baby. The whole of team 5 had to go on one of online meetings to face time with her, since she can't come to school and actually meet us face to face. Next we went to play some sports just at the field near the playground, it was really fun playing sports because we were in lockdown for more than one month. After that we had our lunchtime which was also a lot of fun, we got to play outside and run around then the bell rang and we had to go back inside. We started blogging as soon as we got inside and we began to play fun games. Finally we packed up for the day and we had such a blast. It was really good going to school which gave me the motivation to do this blog post.

I hope you enjoy today's blog post because I made it to encourage you to keep going to school. Don't forget to leave a postive comment on mine and class blog.

William Capital Letters - Writing

Writing a letter

Jamie has written a letter to his friend Hoani.  Read the letter carefully as Jamie has forgotten to use capital letters for the proper nouns.  Put capital letters where Jamie should have put them.

Dear Hoani

I have really enjoyed living in wellington since June.  I have made some friends at my new school, which is rata school on paramata street.  My teacher is Mrs Rapana.  She is all right.  In our classroom we have a pet mouse called Mr Snow.  It is my job to clean the mouse house on tuesdays.

We have visited lots of interesting places like the museum and te papa.  I went to see the rugby game at the westpac trust stadium in September.  It was awesome to see Jonah charge down the field.

I am still playing rugby.  I play for the norths rugby club now.  We train on wednesdays.  My new friend Callum is in my team too.

Would you like to come and stay with us in the next holidays?  I hope you will.  Say hi to all my old friends, and especially to everyone at Whenuapai rugby club.

Your friend

Persuasive Writing

This is my persuasive writing, an example of what I am talking about is music and sports.

I believe that music is better than sports, because the people who disagree think that sports is way better than music so they try to convince them to change their mind then pick sports instead, well that’s my example of persuasion.

However students say that they should get paid to go to school but I disagree so much. If kids get paid to school their parents won’t know anything about what they are buying. Kids can’t be trusted with a high percentage of pay, and kids will just waste the money on junk food and other useless things. It’s important for children to not have a high amount of money because they are not mature enough to spend the money wisely.

Clearly dogs are better than cats, dogs are trained to help and protect people, well cats just sit around showing off. Dogs are a liking to most human beings but somehow cat’s are starting to make more popular acts. Cat’s are useless to me, they can’t really do anything, they always scratch people and are just so annoying. There’s n point of having cat’s around, their also pretty stupid to me because they always get runover. Dog’s can save lives and save other animals, if dogs didn’t exist the world would be pretty useless.

These arguments of persuasion give me more of an understanding of how persuasive writing works. It helps me improve my education by putting punctuation in the right places because I used to have a problem with that. I hope this writing gave you a glimpse into what me and my literacy class is learning about. Thank you for listening.

Task Description: Greetings Bloggers, This is my writing task that talks about my ideas on persuasive writing and how it can be used. This piece of writing really means a lot to me because it's gonna help me prepare for my test exam that I am going to be doing very soon so wish me good luck. I hope you enjoy this task and don't be shy to leave a positive comment on my blog.

Healthy Me! Healthy You! - Term 3

This Term Pt England School is learning to keep healthy and stay on track with the 2020 olyympic games that is almost going to come to the end. Term 2 was a great term but now we are on Term 3 and its now time to get fit. If you didn't know P.E.S is having their annual cross country which shocked many of the students.

The theme for this Term is "Healthy Me! Healthy You!, which means the school is gonna be trying to get fit and stay as healthy as they can. It's going to be a kind of a challenging year but we'll get through it, we're going to be training hard and eat the healthy foods we're suppose to eat. I'm also trying to improve at my learning so I can be much smarter and fit.

Team 5 is working on keeping fit and train as much as they can, by this the teachers are making sure we have the right portions of food to eat. I have a good feeling that this is going to be a good and peaceful term. Thanks for listening to this blog and don't forget to leave a positive comment on my blog.

Magic Show Food Groups - Writing

The Magic Show - Food Groups

Last week on friday our school held a magic show for the children of PES.

The friendly humble person that hosted the show was a foreign magician with the name of Vas Kovalski.

Vas Kovalski or the Auckland Magician was using magic to entertain and capture his audience.

It was very smart of the Magician to use magic and learning to keep the attention of the children.

The magician talked about the well being of our everyday lives and how it was important to keep our health system running.

The magic show was really fun, it was good to watch because it’s part of education and it helps make good choices in life. The show was really useful for the young and older kids, it also helped to keep the children entertained and listening so that the magician can keep rolling on with the show.

I really enjoyed the magic show. It even helped me with my skills in life and my health system.

If the magician Vas Kovalski checks on my blog I really want to thank you for your time at Pt England school and teaching us the importance of health and life.

Information: Elizabeth II is Queen of the United Kingdom and 15 other Commonwealth Realms. Queen Elizabeth II was born in Mayfair, London, 1926 as the first child of the Duke and Duchess of York.

Her father Ascended the throne on the abdication of his brother King Edward VII in 1936, from which time Elizabeth II was the heir presumptive. Queen Elizabeth II and Prince Philip are actually second cousins once removed by descent from Christian IX of Denmark and Louise of Hesse-Kassel and third cousins by descent from Queen Victoria and Prince Albert.

Queen Elizabeth II is the richest member of the royal family as well as the longest-reigning monarch in british history, crowned in June 1953. Much of the british royal family’s net worth comes from the Crown Estate, although it isn’t actually owned by the Queen.

Conclusion: Her Majesty the Queen has gone through a lot of hard and stressful times but she is still able to work hard and stay safe in these conditions, and that’s what makes her for what she is today a humble and generous Queen.

The Life Of Education - Speech Writing

Intro: Today I am going to explain the life of education and how it has come to be.

Information: Education is the process of facilitating learning, or the acquisition of knowledge, skills, values, beliefs and habits. Educational methods include teaching, training, storytelling, discussion and directed research.

Education is really important for humans, it's part of living. If the world didn’t have education then us humans probably wouldn't be alive by now.

The idea and practise of universal compulsory public education developed gradually in the continent Europe, from the early 16th century on into the 19th century.

In America, in the mid 17th century, Massachusetts became the first state to instruct schooling, the purpose of education was to turn children into well educated citizens.

Conclusion: As you know now education is pretty important for everyone, because education has a big impact on your life.

Task Description: Kia ora This is my speech writing about the life of education and how it has come to be.

If you didn't know, this writing is actually for my school report and that's why I put my writing in high standard texts. I hope you enjoy my Speech writing and don't be shy to leave a positive comment on my blog.

NSW VS QLD - Writing

Yesterday night the New South Wales rugby league team was playing against the Queensland rugby league team.

NSW won which really surprised a lot of QLD supporters. I didn’t watch the game but I knew that NSW did well, it was a really big deal for me because QLD are a really hard team to beat. I was so happy for NSW because the score was 50 - 6 I really rubbed it in my friend’s face who is a QLD supporter.

I really want NSW to win the state of origin because they have never won it in Rugby League history. I want to play for NSW when I grow up because that’s why it’s my favourite team and so NSW has a massive impact on me. The next game will be very challenging because QLD is gonna get better and learn the tactics of NSW. My prediction will be that QLD will win what is your prediction.

SSW Year 7 Rotations - Writing

Last week in Team 5 the year 8s went to their leadership camp, which meant that the year 7s had to step up and be the leaders of Pt England School. The remaining year 8s had to go and help out with the juniors but that didn’t mean that the year 7s didn’t get to do anything fun.

As the year 8s went to camp the year 7s got to go Goat Island, at Goat Island the year 7s got to study the beautiful waters of New zealand and discover what lives in it. We also got to swim and snorkel around the beautiful clear sea of Goat Island. It was very satisfying because it was my first time snorkeling, as the day went on the year 7s had to go back to school.

The day after we went to Goat Island we had our first mixed rotations, we also went tech tamaki and got switched into the cooking class. It was the second for the year 8s at camp and it was very quiet without all the year 8s. After that the year 7s were a bit tired because they just had rotations, Goat Island and tech they barely even looked alive.

We ended with a nice lunch given by the NZ government.

The day after that the year 7s were very excited because it was friday and the last day of the week. To top it all off we were having a movie playing at the end of the day so the year 7s brought a ton of food for the movie and enjoy it.

The Tale Of The Deathly Warriors - Writing

                                               Genres: Myth

Long ago in the Pacific there were three brothers [Warriors].

The brothers were of Tongan and Samoan descent and they lived in Hawaii.

One day at twilight the three brothers went on a journey to find land and they came across a river. On the other side of the river was land the problem was that there was nothing to cross the river with so the brothers simply cut down a nearby coconut tree and formed a bridge.

As the brothers were about to cross the bridge they were blocked by a black hooded figure it was Death himself and he felt cheated by the brothers, cheated because people would usually die in the river. Then Death thought of something and pretended to congratulate the brothers and wanted to present them with gifts, so the eldest brother asked for a sword that was the most powerful in the universe and Death broke off a long stick from a nearby elder tree and transformed it into a sharp shiny powerful sword and the eldest brother took it gladly, then Death turned to the second brother and he asked for the power to bring back love ones from the dead and then Death picked up a stone from the river and it transformed into a gold diamond then the second brother took it gladly, lastly Death turned to the youngest, humble and wisest brother then he asked for the power to not be seen from sight so Death shed his own skin from his body and it transformed into an invisibility cloak then gave it to the youngest brother.

After that all three brothers took their possessions and went their own ways, the eldest brother went with his sword and killed a islander he onced quarreled with, drunk with the sword the eldest brother bragged of his invincibility showing off his moves and getting even more drunk then the elder brother named his sword the elder sword. One night when the eldest brother was sleeping a jealous islander stole the elder sword and slit the brothers throat with it so Death took the first brother.

As the second brother possessed the gold stone he named it the stone of life. The second brother took the stone of life and went to the village of a women he was soon going to marry but died of unknown causes, so the second brother went to her grave and put the stone of life on it then the grave started shaking rapidly it opened up and there she was just standing in front of her grave but she was sad f0r that she did not belong in the mortal world and jumped back in to her grave that closed shut. The second brother was furious about what happened so he threw the stone of life away and killed himself to join his beloved fiance so Death took the second brother.

As for the youngest brother he was never found by Death for that youngest brother was under his invisibility cloak forever but when he got married and had a child he passed down the invisibility cloak to son. After that the youngest brother greeted Death as an old friend and went with him gladly so Death took the third brother.

For thoses who don’t know what the deathly warriors are it’s like the deathly brothers in the story and Death took them all that’s why it’s called deathly and warriors are the brothers for which there are three deathly warriors that means the elder sword, the stone of life and the cloak of invisibility are the three deathly warriors.

PES Picnic 2021 Explanation

The whole school goes to the picnic because it is very fun and

We walk from school to the beach in groups to get a little energised for the big extraordinary

day. At the picnic the school holds games for playing like tea ball, touch, rugby league, singing,

volleyball, swimming and many other fun activities.

A picnic is really fun to have at point england because it gives students a break from

School even though they just got back from the holidays.

The reason why students should go to the picnic is because they can experience the

outdoors and the nature outside of school.

Students of Point England School come to the picnic to have fun and bond with their families and friends.

You can bring your parents and family to the Point England School Picnic to make it legal.

The Picnic needs as many as 70 parents or more so bring as much as you can to make it happen.

The kids love to swim in the pristine water and like to play with the snow white sand and enjoy making

sand castles with their friends.

Come along to the picnic and have fun with your children.

You can bring more and more whanau and don't forget to bring some yummy food as well.

There will be hot coffee, Juicy ice blocks, cold milk shakes to make yourself cool throughout the

whole magnificent day. Please we really want you to bring as much as you can make

it possible for your children and yourself.

I'm really sure you’ll have a great time with your whanau and a break from your hard work.

Reason 1: having a fun picnic

Reason 2: bonding with your family

Reason 3: working out and getting fit

Letter To Mrs Ilaoa

Dear Mrs Ilaoa,

Greetings my name is William and I am a Y7 student at Point England School.

I am a normal Tongan boy that comes from a Village in Vava’u called Makave. I also come from a family of 6 and I am really grateful for my parents Who work very hard raising me.

What I am interested in is Literacy, Maths and Sports.

Sports are most favourite things to do at school because you can exercise yourself to

Do more things. When I grow up I want to be a Rugby League player for the Blues in the state of origin

I like the Sports teams in school because they have really good children

who have big dreams to be big sports stars.

At Point England it’s very peaceful and fun but some things at school are the opposite

I do not like how the toilets are always dirty and the cleaners always have to scrub the toilets and clean it up all day.

My goals in school are to work hard like my parents did and get a prize at the end of the year. When I get to the end of my years in Point England School I will also work hard to earn a scholarship and go to a very smart college with a lot of sports.

Mrs Ilaoa can make me work really hard this year so I can develop some skills in college and be a great student.

It is very important for me to develop some discipline as well so that when I reach college I work really hard.

Thank you for listening to my suggestions because it really means a lot to me to get a high education.

I also wanna thank you for being a meaningful teacher and a highly strict one as well.
