Noa’ia! That’s hello in the Rotuman language. My information report today will share with you some important facts about rotuma.

Rotuma is located in the southern hemisphere near the south pacific islands of Samoa, Fiji, Tuvalu and Vanuatu.


The population of Rotuma is under 2000 people. The year 2021 says that Rotuma’s population is 1,594. It says that 10,000 of the Rotuman people live in Fiji.


The official languages of Rotuma are Rotuman, Fijian and English. Rotuma’s language is on the endangered list because most people don’t know about Rotuman language.

My personal thinking about keeping my culture alive is doing the stuff that your language does and keep practicing your culture and be very fluent.
