SSW Year 7 Rotations - Writing

Last week in Team 5 the year 8s went to their leadership camp, which meant that the year 7s had to step up and be the leaders of Pt England School. The remaining year 8s had to go and help out with the juniors but that didn’t mean that the year 7s didn’t get to do anything fun.

As the year 8s went to camp the year 7s got to go Goat Island, at Goat Island the year 7s got to study the beautiful waters of New zealand and discover what lives in it. We also got to swim and snorkel around the beautiful clear sea of Goat Island. It was very satisfying because it was my first time snorkeling, as the day went on the year 7s had to go back to school.

The day after we went to Goat Island we had our first mixed rotations, we also went tech tamaki and got switched into the cooking class. It was the second for the year 8s at camp and it was very quiet without all the year 8s. After that the year 7s were a bit tired because they just had rotations, Goat Island and tech they barely even looked alive.

We ended with a nice lunch given by the NZ government.

The day after that the year 7s were very excited because it was friday and the last day of the week. To top it all off we were having a movie playing at the end of the day so the year 7s brought a ton of food for the movie and enjoy it.

Ancient Greece - Homelearning

 Meet the Ancient Greeks

Chapter 1: What I read about this book is really satisfying and educational, it has information about how the ancient Greeks life style was and how they changed the world. The ancient Greeks never called themselves Greeks although they called themselves Hellenes from Hellas (Greece) until the ancient Romans called them Greeks. The ancient Greeks almost lived for 2,500 years and some of their inventions are an influence on our everyday lives.

D

description

Rotuma is located in the southern hemisphere near the south pacific islands of Samoa, Fiji, Tuvalu and Vanuatu.

The population of Rotuma is under 2000 people. The year 2021 says that Rotuma’s population is 1,594. It says that 10,000 of the Rotuman people live in Fiji.

The official languages of Rotuma are Rotuman, Fijian and English. Rotuma’s language is on the endangered list because most people don’t know about Rotuman language.

conclusion

My personal thinking about keeping my culture alive is doing the stuff that your language does and keep practicing your culture and be very fluent.

Team 5 - Watch This Space - Inquiry

Our inquiry this term is Watch This Space which means tracing back to the navigators
who we descended from.
My favourite part of the Term 2 immersion assembly was Team 5 because they made there act really humorous and educational at the same time.
What I liked about the immersion assembly is the teachers like how they were not afraid to act out character
so they can build confidence for the children to do the same thing.
